More About me
I hold a BA from Yale-NUS College (Singapore) and a Masters of Counselling from Monash University (Australia). I’m also a member of both the Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC) and British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I practice integrative psychotherapy, which means I draw on a lot of different disciplines to find an approach that best serves the needs of each individual client. The modalities I draw on most tend to be Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered therapy, and directive psychotherapy. As a certified yoga teacher, I also introduce mindfulness, movement, and body awareness techniques. I enjoy bringing creative interventions into therapy - if you’re willing, you’ll likely find yourself stretching, drawing, writing, or singing in our sessions together!
I have experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, suicidality, and relationship issues. As our world is a fast-changing one, I engage in ongoing training, particularly in areas around LGBTQ+ allyship, multiculturalism, ableism, and racism. I specialise in online therapy because I value its flexibility and accessibility; my priority is to build a deep, strong, and authentic connection between therapist and client in order to facilitate healing.
I grew up in Australia with a Singaporean-Chinese mother, a British father, and extended family spread all over the world, including the UK, the US, and South Africa. I moved to Southeast Asia in 2013 and lived mostly in Singapore, apart from one year working in Myanmar as a Princeton-in-Asia Fellow. In April 2021, I relocated to the UK and now live in Cambridge. I use she/her pronouns.
