From me to you
So what brings you to my website? I imagine you’re here because you’d like to look more deeply at something in your life at the moment. Perhaps it’s a key relationship at home or at work; perhaps you’re struggling in your studies or career; perhaps you have concerns about your health, identity, family, or your life generally. I myself have sought counselling for all those reasons at one time or another.
Here’s what I wish I knew about the counsellors I saw before we started working together: would they be a kind, caring, empathetic listener? Would they strike a good balance between structure and open-endedness? Would they give me a chance to reflect at my own pace, and give me some practical skills to use going forward? And if they didn’t do those things as well as I’d like, but we really connected and had a good relationship built on trust and respect, would they be receptive to feedback so that we could keep working together?
These are also the questions I ask of myself in my own therapy practice. I am absolutely committed to understanding what your questions about counselling are, and how we might explore them together. If that resonates with what you’re looking for, please get in touch.
